This doesn’t come as too much of a surprise because the rumblings have been around all week, but Jake Locker will start on Sunday for the Tennessee Titans against the San Francisco 49ers. The Titans have struggled in his absence. The Titans went 0-2 under back up Ryan Fitzpatrick’s leadership. He three one touchdown and 4 interceptions in that stretch.

Earlier in the week, head coach Mike Munchak said that Locker was itching to get back into the game.

“Jake wants it,” Munchak said at the time, via the Tennessean. “I don’t know that he’ll be 100 percent honest with us, unfortunately. … He knows how important he is to team. But he understands what we have to do and he’ll go by ultimately what we decide is best, even though he may not agree with us, because there’s a lot of football to go this year. We want to make sure we are doing the right thing.”

That must mean they feel pretty confident in Locker’s abilities if they’re starting him this weekend. Locker is having his best season. He has completed 62.2% of his passes for six touchdowns and no interceptions.
