The Cincinnati Bengals haven’t officially announced that cornerback Leon Hall is out for the season with a torn Achilles tendon as originally reported, but don’t get your hopes up that the Pro Bowler will somehow be able to return at some point this year. He likely has the injury that nearly every major outlet has reported he has, and the Bengals are waiting to announce it once they’ve decided how to fill his roster spot.

And according to Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Bengals have made several attempts to claim several CBs off the waiver wire this week, but have been unable to get one yet. They may just leave his spot open going into Sunday’s game against the New York Jets and wait to see if they can beat the NFL trading deadline next Tuesday for a player they deem worthy of trading for on another team:

ESPN NFL analyst Chris Mortensen originally reported that the Bengals will place Hall on injured reserve for the remainder of the season after learning he tore his left Achilles tendon during Sunday’s 27-24 win at Detroit.
