The saga of Miami Dolphins’ offensive tackle Jonathan Martin has been a strange one to follow this week.

Martin went AWOL from the Dolphins when he was apparently harassed by his teammates. They jokingly told Martin they wouldn’t sit with him in the team cafeteria and this apparently really upset him.

One source said that after the offensive line made fun of Martin, he “snapped.”

Martin has been ruled out of Thursday’s game between the Dolphins and Bengals. He is with his family and is receiving treatment.

On Thursday, he responded to his critics and reporters.

“Happy Halloween!” Martin tweeted.  “Don’t believe everything you read.”

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, who first saw the tweet, this is actually Martin’s twitter account. Florio points out that Martin followed this tweet by saying “Opinions are like a–holes, everybody has one.”

Martin was the 42nd overall pick of the 2012 by the Dolphins and has since become a starter. He’s struggled to protect quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who was sacked six times by the New England Patriots last week in the second half alone.

The Dolphins and Bengals will kick off at 8:25 pm EST.
