Denver Broncos head coach John Fox had a health scare on Saturday afternoon that landed him a trip to a local Charlotte hospital. After undergoing treatment and medical tests at the hospital, it has been determined that Fox will need to undergo a procedure on one of his heart valves.

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports had the scoop:

"Just spoke with John Fox. He’s having a procedure on his aortic valve on Tuesday in North Carolina. He will remain there for 2 weeks and miss about a month to 6 weeks. Fox was slated to have this procedure in the offseason but held off. Ironically, he flew to North Carolina during this weeks bye to meet w surgeon about a February procedure. Foxie said its something he knew he’d one day need but it deteriorated faster than they feared. Although he’ll be away from team he’ll still be involved."

It is a scary situation to go through, but this is the type of situation that a team can rally around.

We wish Fox the best and hope that he has a speedy recovery.
