Dallas Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Ware made his return to the starting line up against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Ware had missed the previous three games with a thigh injury, and he might have tweaked it on Sunday.

“I think he’s ready,” Jones said before the game on Tuesday, via ESPN Dallas.

“DeMarcus Ware is one of the best players in the league,” Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said Wednesday, via the Dallas Morning News. “So it’s certainly better to have him than not have him. Hopefully he’s healthy and ready to go. He’s a guy who can impact the ballgame himself, he’s done that throughout his career. He’s a mismatch type player.

“Typically, he gets a lot of attention and like a lot of great players in this league, continues to show up and have an impact on the ball game. He’s a great player. Hopefully he’ll have a great week of practice and hopefully he’ll be available for this game.”

It might have been too soon for Ware to return. Against the Saints Ware had 3 tackles, and one sack.
