Much of the medical conversation surrounding the Denver Broncos this week as they get ready for their AFC West showdown against the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs has been geared toward the status of QB Peyton Manning. After nursing a sore right ankle, Manning has been listed as probable by the team and will almost definitely be on the field Sunday.

But, there’s another future Hall of Famer on the Broncos roster whose status you have to keep an eye on, but his isn’t as optimistic as Mannings.

All-Pro cornerback Champ Bailey, who has only played six total quarters this entire year, is still listed on the team’s injury report as doubtful for this week.

Bailey has been nursing a foot injury virtually the entire season, and he has been out since he re-aggravated the injury last month in a loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Since then, the coaching staff has generally pointed out that Bailey is a week-to-week decision, and this week isn’t looking very good for that status to change.
