Right handed big man Bartolo Colon is once again searching for a new team to settle down with.

Now he’s getting up there in age so the contract that he receives and possibly signs will more than likely be the last one he’ll ever agree on as a professional baseball player. After helping the Athletics clinch the American League West, Colon continued to build his stock which could be a bad thing.

Maybe if he was about four or five years younger, then maybe things would have worked out. But with him being 40 years old, are teams going to want to offer more than a two year contract?

Well that’s what he could be waiting for. The guy has proven that he’s a winner. He’s had a couple up and down seasons, but for the most part he’s been a solid starter.

Colon will more than likely sit back and wait for a team to toss him a two year contract. I mean take a look at Tim Hudson and the San Francisco Giants. They signed him to a two year $23 million dollar deal.

But would he get as much as Hudson?

Hudson finished the 2013 season with a 3.97 ERA with a win/loss record of 8-7 and just 95 strike outs. Colon, who is two years older, finished 18-6 with a 2.65 ERA and 117 strike outs.

It’ll be interesting to see who offers and what they actually put on the table.
