The New York Jets were once 5-4 and looked like a legitimate contender to earn a wild card spot in the AFC and possibly even had a chance at an AFC East Division title after splitting with the New England Patriots.

However, the Jets haven’t been competitive in their last two games, losing 37-14 to the Buffalo Bills and 19-3 to the Baltimore Ravens.

Due to those performances, the Jets consider this week’s game against the Miami Dolphins a “must-win.”

“It’s a must-win,” veteran guard Willie Colon told Rich Cimini of ESPN.com. “There’s no tomorrow. Either we start winning or we go home.”

Colon’s teammates agree.

“Definitely, no question,” linebacker Quinton Coples said. “At the end of the day, we must win all these regular-season games. That’s our plan, that’s our approach.”

There probably isn’t a realistic chance for the Jets to catch the Patriots and one wild card spot will be locked up whoever doesn’t win the AFC West between the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs. The Jets are one of six teams, along with the Dolphins, Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, Tennessee Titans and San Diego Chargers, who sit at 5-6,  tied for the final playoff spot.

The Jets and Dolphins will kick-off at 1:00 pm EST Sunday.
