New England Patriots cornerback Alfonzo Dennard is suffering from a knee injury that had his status for the team’s Week 13 match up against the Houston Texans in doubt and we learned today that he has officially been ruled out from Sunday’s game.

In fact, Dennard did not even travel with the team to Houston.

From the Boston Herald:

"Dennard did not travel with the Patriots to Houston due to his knee injury and has been downgraded to out for tomorrow’s game against the Texans. Dennard has dealt with the ailment for a few weeks and wasn’t expected to play against the Broncos, surprising those around him that he was able to tough it out for the game. But Dennard reinjured the knee in the second quarter and didn’t return.Dennard didn’t practice Thursday but was a limited participant Wednesday and Friday. He was listed as questionable on the final injury report of the week."

With Dennard now officially ruled out, Aqib Talib and Kyle Arrington will start at corner for the Patriots. Logan Ryan will serve as the team’s nickel back.

The question that remains now is whether or not Dennard will be able to return at any point this season.
