2. Rashard Mendehnall-Arizona Cardinals

Through the first part of the season, Mendenhall struggled mightily and was known in fantasy circles mostly for being the roadblock in the way of Andre Ellington. The one week he did sit out Ellington went off only increasing the call to replace Mendenhall on a full time basis.

However, the veteran has played better the last few weeks and with Ellington now ailing got a season-high in carries and yards last week against Philadelphia. He’s found the end zone in three of his last five games and has totalled over 75 all-purpose yards in each of his last two.

Even if Ellington returns, Mendenhall is worth consideration as a RB2 or a flex play since he has a pair of very favorable matchups the next two weeks as the Cards face the Rams and Titans who allow the fifth and sixth most fantasy points to opposing running backs. He finishes with a Seahawk-49er gauntlet, but there’s no telling how invested those teams will be at that point. Mendenhall is a nice sleeper play
