Washington Redskin’s head coach Mike Shanahan has decided to shut down quarterback Robert Griffin III for the remainder of the season. The move was explained as a way to keep Griffin healthy for next season. On the other side is Shanahan saying that back up quarterback Kirk Cousins playing well in the final three games could result in a first-round draft pick.

Griffin has said that he isn’t mad at Shanahan for the decision.

“Where they got that I don’t know,” Griffin said in response to reports that he was extremely angry, via Pro Football Talk. No competitor would be happy but to say he’s angry makes for good TV, I guess. … He feels like he let his teammates down and he wanted to finish the season with them. Now he will just do it from the sideline and through practices.”

Now this report is coming out that says there might be some tension between the two. According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, Griffin and Shanahan won’t talk even when passing in the hallway.
