The collarbone that has both inspired the naming of a child and inspired conspiracy theories is practicing and taking the first team reps today.  Aaron Rodgers is out there taking the majority of reps for the Green Bay Packers with Matt Flynn getting in on a rotation.  Despite not having Rodgers the past 8 weeks, the Packers are still alive in the playoff race.  While the Packers have not officially made a decision yet, Rodgers may be able to come back for the division deciding game against the Chicago Bears.

When the injury initially happened, 8 weeks was the timeline that was actually diagnosed for the injury, but the hope was that Rodgers could recover faster.  That ultimately did not happen, but this would be the scheduled time for him to be healed.  The good news is that the injury was sustained on his non-throwing shoulder, so there will not be an issue with trusting the shoulder in which he throws the football.

If Rodgers can come in and lead the Packers to a win, they make the playoffs and become a dangerous 4th seed.  In spite of the problems they have had on their roster, Rodgers makes them a legitimate contender and gives them a chance to make a run, especially when combined with Eddie Lacy running the football.  The playoffs for the Packers and Rodgers, should he play this week, start this week.
