The New York Giants and wide receiver Hakeem Nicks could be set to part ways this spring when he enters free agency. Nicks was asked if he wanted to return to the team, and he said he did and they knew it.

“They know that. It’s just a matter of how things are going to work out,” Nicks said. “And we’ll know that soon.”

Nicks went on to say that it wasn’t about money.

“Players, coaches, the organization,” Nicks said, via the Newark Star-Ledger. “That’s just something I want to make sure I look at. I don’t want to get myself in a situation where there’s a lot going on. This organization is great stability wise. You don’t want too many changes going on here. I like how they’re always looking out for a player’s best interest and things like that.”

Nicks has struggled this season and has yet to score a touchdown. Offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride said, when asked, that defenses weren’t necessarily playing Nicks differently in 2013 and to blame for the lack of touchdowns.

“No, not at all,” Gilbride said, via the New York Daily News. “There’s been opportunities. It’s unfortunate. It just hasn’t worked out. Am I surprised? Yeah, no question.”
