New England Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes was placed on the injured reserve list recently after missing a team meeting, but he also has a knee injury. The good news for Spikes is that the knee will be able to heel on its own and he will not need surgery on his PCL.

From Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network:

This is obviously good news for Spikes, who is set to become a free agent this offseason.

It has previously been reported that the Patriots are not expected to re-sign Spikes in the free agency period, so it will be interesting to see what the interest will be in his services once he becomes available.
