On Tuesday morning, the Detroit Lions announced that Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell would become the team’s next head coach. Now, as his first responsibility, Caldwell will need to begin rounding out his staff.

According to reports, one of the first men that is likely to be named to Caldwell’s staff is Ravens defensive backs coach Teryl Austin. Austin is expected to be the Lions defensive coordinator.

From Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun:

Caldwell and Austin have a long working relationship.

Before being together on the Ravens coaching staff, the two worked side by side on the Penn State Nittany Lions and Wake Forest Demon Deacons staffs in the early 1990s.

As for Prince, he previously served as an assistant coach with the Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars, before joining the Rutgers Scarlet Knights last year as the team’s offensive coordinator.
