Super Bowl jerseys 2014: Denver Broncos to wear orange

Super Bowl XLVIII will take place on Feb. 2 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey and we know that the match up will be the Seattle Seahawks against the Denver Broncos.

What we didn’t previously know was what jersey the teams will be wearing, but now we have our answer.

With the AFC champion being designated as the home team, the Denver Broncos got the first crack at their choice of jersey. With the decision in the hands of the Broncos, they have decided to wear their orange jerseys for the big game.

For those who are interested in obscure statistics, the Denver Broncos have never won a Super Bowl when they wore their orange jerseys in the championship. They will hope to reverse the trend this year.

Here is a look back at the Broncos Super Bowl history and what jerseys they were wearing in each match up:

Super Bowl Opponent Jersey
XII Dallas Orange
XXI N.Y. Giants White
XXII Washington Orange
XXIV San Francisco Orange
XXXII Green Bay Blue
XXXIII Atlanta White
XLVIII Seattle Orange
