Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman has been receiving plenty of attention leading up to Super Bowl XLVIII, but all of the talk has led to Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas hoping that he gets the opportunity to line up against Sherman one-on-one when the two teams meet on Feb. 2 at MetLife Stadium.

“He’s a great player. I’d love to have that matchup and show what kind of player I am. I don’t know if we’ll match up, but like I said, he’s a great player,” Thomas told reporters.

To be the best, you have to beat the best, so it comes as no surprise that Thomas’ competitive nature is showing.

Of course, most quarterbacks are smart enough to avoid throwing at Sherman, so being lined up against the Seahawks top corner could mean that Thomas doesn’t get the amount of opportunities to make a play in the big game as he would hope for.
