The Ohio State Buckeyes have done much of their heavy lifting on the recruiting trail well before Wednesday’s national signing day and as a result claim the No. 2 recruiting class according to 247Sports, but there is still a little bit of drama with some big targets on the table.

Ohio State has 22 commitments but one of them could be flipping. No. 4 offensive tackle Jamarco Jones (Chicago, Ill De La Salle Institute) could be in danger of flipping to the Michigan State Spartans after an official visit to East Lansing on Jan. 31. He may actually plans to announce his decision sometime on Tuesday on signing day eve.

Malik McDowell (Detroit, Mich. Southfield) is a five-star defensive end who wants to stay in state and play for the Spartans, but his dad wants him to get out of Michigan and play for either the Florida State Seminoles or the Buckeyes.

He took an official to Columbus on Jan. 31 and it’s anybody’s guess where the country’s No. 32 overall prospect will pick when he announces at 9:30 a.m. ET, but Ohio State has some momentum and could be a big winner here if McDowell’s dad gets his way.

Derrick Nnadi (Virginia Beach Va. Ocean Lakes) is technically a Buckeyes target but all indications are that he will commit to the Virginia Tech Hokies or Florida State Seminoles when he announces at 8:00 a.m. ET.

Ohio State could lose all three of these players and still have a top two or three class depending on what happens with LSU on signing day because of commitments from guys like Raekwon McMillan, Dante Booker, Damon Webb, among others, but keeping Jones or adding McDowell would be the icing on the cake to another stellar haul by Urban Meyer and staff.
