The Seattle Seahawks defeated the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII, and while many were surprised Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll wasn’t one of them.

“We really made the decision early to stay with what we know really well and demonstrate to our guys that we believe in them and trust them,” Carroll said on “Brock and Danny” on 710 ESPN Seattle. “Let’s play the way we want to play. The more we looked at it, the more excited we got about it. We really felt like we could knock the crud out of these guys.”

“There were no surprises in this game,” Carroll said. “It was just who is going to make the next hit, the next statement.”

Richard Sherman said they were able to read Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning’s hand signs.
