The New York Knicks are a team that haven’t really taken off at all this season despite having the talent to do so and a recent turnaround in luck. The team is starting to play better but the rumors about Mike Woodson getting fired seem to be heating up more and more with everything boiling over thanks to a report that the Knicks are expected to fire Woodson and several of his assistants next week.

Michael Scotto from SheridanHoops.com is repotting that multiple league sources have said Woodson is going to get the boot before the All-Star game, meaning next week could see the Knicks fire their head coach ahead of the weekend festivities.

"Mike Woodson and several assistant coaches on his staff are expecting to get fired by the All-Star break, multiple league sources tell SheridanHoops.com."

This seems in line with reports that the locker room is tired of Woodson questioning their effort and have complained to management. As on the fence as the Knicks are about Woodson, such a thing could be a tipping point.

To be completely fair and balanced, former New York Times reporter Howard Beck is reporting his sources believes Woodson is safe until the end of the season, which sort of puts us back where we were in November and December when Woodson was going to be fired one day and spared the next.

A major decision will be made next week though, as firing Woodson is just as big a decision as allowing him to remain head coach of the Knicks.
