Sochi Olympics: Figure skating order for women’s short program set

Tuesday will be an off day for Iceberg Skating Palace, with the ladies figure skating competition not kicking off until Wednesday. While we still have over 24 hours for the competition to begin, the order for the short program at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi has been determined.

Among the notables in the competition are defending Olympic champion Yuna Kim of South Korea, 15-year-old Russian prodigy Yulia Lipnitskaya and Americans Gracie Gold and Ashley Wagner.

Kim will compete first out of the four headliners as the 217th figure skater to take the ice, while Gold skates 22nd, Lipnitskaya skates 25th and Wagner goes on 27th. The third United States competitor in the field is Polina Edmunds, who will skate 12th.

There are a total of thirty skaters in the field.
