This past week, there was word that a potential proposal will come the NFL’s way that would penalize a player 15-yards for using a racial slur while on the field of play, in particular the N-word, which is used quite rampantly when the games are ongoing.

A lot of people were happy with this, and rightfully so, but as Miami Heat star Chris Bosh points out, it shouldn’t stop with just the N-word, rather it should include all slurs.

"“I’m OK with it [the penalty] but then it gets tricky,” Bosh said. “What’s if I say this? It’s a bunch of other things I could say and not get a penalty. I think if you bring anything in, you’ve got to bring them all in. I think that will work out a lot better.”"

Bosh went on to elaborate a little bit more about what should be included in the ruling.

"“It is in mainstream America now,” Bosh said. “A lot of people say, `I’m not racist because I use it in a friendly way.’ Like I said, if you’re going to use one word, put them all in there, use every slur, every negative curse word and that will kind of simplify it a little bit. I think it’s too gray right now.”‘"

All things considered, Bosh has a great point. While the N-word should be at the forefront, other slurs shouldn’t be ignored. When you look at the recent Richie Incognito-Jonathan Martin situation which basically prompted all of this, there were a lot more derogatory comments made than just the N-word.
