Veteran defensive end Jared Allen will be testing the free agent market this year after spending the last six seasons wearing a Minnesota Vikings uniform.

The 31 year old two time sack leader will definitely receive a lot of interest this off-season. Almost every defensive coordinator who has a job in this league will or should want Allen on their team. I mean, who wouldn’t want to have this guy making huge plays for you?

Now according to ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez, he believes that the Oakland Raiders could end up showing interest in the former fourth round draft pick out of Idaho State.

Allen will be turning 32 years old at the very beginning of April, so he’s getting up there in age. Although he’s getting up there in age, his production hasn’t really changed. Yes he recorded 22 sacks back in 2011, but he’s still kept his numbers above 11 when it comes to that category.

He finished the year with 11.5 sacks, 52 combined tackles in what could have been his final season with the Minnesota Vikings.
