The New England Patriots need wide receiver help, and it appears that they’re willing to go the addition by subtraction route when it comes to Danny Amendola. While he was the big free agent signing for the Patriots a year ago, the fact that he got hit so hard that he couldn’t walk straight on more than a few occasions has Bill Belichick and company looking to see if anyone else wants him on their roster.

According to NFL scribe Dan Pompei, the Patriots have begun shopping Amendla in trade talks, although the seriousness of the discussions aren’t completely known.

"NFL teams say the name of Danny Amendola has been floated in trade talks. The Patriots signed the wide receiver to a five-year, $28.5 million contract last offseason, but Amendola struggled to stay healthy and did not have the kind of impact the team envisioned him having."

Amendola’s season was beyond disappointing and the Patriots have little patience for failure, especially with guys who aren’t supposed to fail. The Amendola experiment has seemingly gone south faster than expected and the Patriots appear to be trying to save face.
