Oscars 2014: Ellen roasts Liza Minelli and she’s not amused (Video)

The Oscars are here and one of the things we’ve been looking forward to is how well Ellen DeGeneres would be as host for the second time in her career. The opening of the Oscars helps set the tone for the rest of the night and Ellen helped get the night off to a great start with some jokes that did well and others that may have fallen a bit flat.
One joke saw Ellen roast Liza Minelli — out of the blue, mind you — by saying that she was a man dressed up as Liza Minelli. We don’t know if Minelli was in on the joke, but she looked hardly amused to be on the end of that particular joke.
Ellen isn’t typically a roast-style comedienne but she took a jab at Minelli at the start of the show and it helped set an interesting mood to begin the evening.
