Buffalo Bills free agent safety Jairus Byrd is quickly becoming the talk of the upcoming NFL free agency period. Most recently, he’s been tied quite a bit to the Cleveland Browns, but as Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network pointed out this evening. why wouldn’t the New York Jets and a shot to play for Rex Ryan be a good fit?

As he pointed out, Byrd was basically be playing in the same system. Before his short stint with the Bills as defensive coordinator, new Browns head coach Mike Pettine spent s significant amount of time learning from Ryan, who has made a name for himself in the league with his affinity for trotting out great defenses.

With the free agency period right around the corner, the Bills chose not to place their franchise tag on the talented safety, giving him the opportunity to shop his services.

Could this shopping eventually land him in the Big Apple?
