The NFL free agent period is set to kick off next week and the Minnesota Vikings will be looking to solidify their wide receiving corp. In order to do so, they may not look too far and could decide to re-sign free agent wide receiver Jerome Simpson.

According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, the Vikings would like to re-sign Simpson if the two sides could work out details of a deal.

Simpson is a No. 3 wide receiver and the Vikings could look elsewhere to fill the void, but the familiarity that Simpson has with new Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer from their time with the Cincinnati Bengals could be enough to convince him to stay in town.
