One of the top cornerbacks in the 2014 NFL Draft class may need to begin worrying about his draft stock as he gets set to go under the knife. According to NFL Draft insider Tony Pauline, Jason Verrett of TCU is set to undergo surgery on his shoulder to repair a torn labrum.

Despite the injury, Verrett was able to impress at the NFL Scouting Combine and remain in the discussion as a late-first-round pick.

The good news for Verrett is that the surgery should allow him to heal in time to participate in training camp.

Verrett can also look to just one year ago when Alabama’s Dee Milliner remained a top draft selection despite undergoing the same procedure during the offseason.
