This weekend, there will be a legal tampering period where teams around the NFL will be allowed to begin talking with pending free agents as they anticipate the beginning of the new league year and official start of the free agency period.

One of those players that will be available is former Minnesota Vikings tight end John Carlson.

As Carlson begins his search for a new home, he has already been receiving plenty of interest. Earlier today, it was reported that Carlson was set to visit with the Arizona Cardinals and now reports are stating that the New York Jets and Green Bay Packers are interested in the free agent.

The news came from Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports.

With the Jets searching for weapons to add around quarterback Geno Smith and the Packers searching for a replacement for Jermichael Finley, both teams would make plenty of sense.
