The Washington Redskins have emerged as a suitor of Carolina Panthers safety Mike Mitchell according to Mike Jones of the Washington Post. They’re also reportedly interested in cornerback Aqib Talib.
From the Washington Post:
The Redskins have expressed interest in free agent defensive backs Aqib Talib and Mike Mitchell, according to two people with knowledge of the situation.
Meanwhile, Washington is high on Mitchell, a sixth-year safety, who last season recorded 66 tackles and four interceptions for the Carolina Panthers. The Redskins reached out to his representatives soon after the league’s negotiation window opened at noon on Saturday. They remained in contact with Mitchell’s camp, speaking with them several times throughout the day, one source said.
