In the offseason, the New York Knicks decide to trade for a former #1 overall pick, forward Andrea Bargnani. The Toronto Raptors, who made Bargnani the top overall choice in 2006 gladly sent the Italian native to New York.

Things have not worked out for Bargnani and the Knicks.

Bargnani has not played since January 22, missing the last 23 games because of an elbow injury.

According to Ian Begley of ESPN New York, there is no timetable for Bargnani’s return and the injury could cause him to miss the rest of the season.

The 28-year old Bargnani is averaging just 13.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and 1.1 assists per game.

The Knicks have not missed Bargnani lately. They’ve won four straight games and are now just 3.5 games behind the Atlanta Hawks for the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference.
