The Cleveland Browns are in another new era for the franchise and fans are hoping that things actually stick this time around. With a new defensive minded head coach in town, the team is looking towards free agency and the defensive market for ways to get better.

According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, one player that is catching the eye of the Browns front office is linebacker Karlos Dansby. The Browns are expected to make a run at signing Dansby when free agency officially opens this afternoon.

Per Mary Kay Cabot:

"The Browns are likely to pursue Cardinals premier inside linebacker Karlos Dansby when free agency opens at 4 p.m. Tuesday, a league source said."

Cabot notes that the signing of Dansby would be to replace now Indianapolis Colts linebacker D’Qwell Jackson, who was cut by the Browns earlier this month. Dansby will likely get attention elsewhere which means the Browns will have to open up the checkbook to get him.

Still, adding a defensive force like Dansby is a step in the right direction for the Browns and could get their free agency off to a great start.
