The Detroit Lions have been rumored to want to add another wide receiver, be it through Free Agency, the Draft, or both. On Tuesday night, their journey is going to begin with the free agent market as they’re going to have a visit with Seattle Seahawks wideout, Golden Tate, according to Adam Schefter.

The former Notre Dame star is coming off a season in which he helped lead the Seahawks to their first Super Bowl win in franchise history, something the Lions are seeking as well. In 2013, Tate hauled in 64 balls for 898 yards and five scores.

With the Lions basically just looking for a complement to Calvin Johnson, Tate would fit the role to near perfection. In Seattle, at times, he was looked at as the number one option in the receiving game, which in reality he isn’t. But with Johnson taking most of the pressure off of him, Detroit could help Tate’s career prosper a little bit more as it progresses.
