Justin Tuck is testing free agent water and will officially stop being a member of the New York Giants this afternoon. But while he’s going to be released, that doesn’t mean Tuck’s career with New York is completely over.

According to CBSSports’ Jason La Canfora, many around the NFL who are looking at the defensive end market actually believe that Tuck will return to the Giants once he learns of his market value.

Tuck doesn’t know his market value and the Giants aren’t going to get into a bidding war with themselves for him. Once the market value of Tuck is established, the Giants are likely to make their move and re-sign him.

Hitting the market means there’s a chance another team swoops in and woos Tuck away from New York, but it looks like the Giants will be at the top of the list when it comes to teams with a chance to land the Pro Bowl defensive end.
