The Carolina Panthers are reportedly trying to trade wide receiver Steve Smith, and if they can’t they’ll release him. It might be more a matter of when they release Smith.

When that time comes, there will be a home for the soon-to-be 35 year-old receiver, the Baltimore Ravens are emerging as a “strong potential landing spot.”

From the Baltimore Sun:

"The Ravens are expected to emerge as a strong potential landing spot for Carolina Panthers veteran wide receiver Steve Smith should he be released today, according to league sources.Smith is expected to be cut, barring an unexpected trade developing in the next few hours for the five-time Pro Bowl selection, according to a source."
