The Detroit Lions have been meeting with free agent wide receiver Golden Tate for most of the day, and it appears they will likely have him signed before the day is through. there’s nothing to say that a deal is imminent, but all signs point towards a deal and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to connect the dots.

According to both Dave Birkett and Tim Twentyman, Tate has been at the Lions facility for most of the day and has been meeting with senior Lions officials.

Running back Joique Bell, who signed a two-year extension with the Lions earlier in the day, had some cryptic words for reporters when asked about what he saw behind-the-scenes with his team and Tate.

"“I don’t know where he was walking to, but he was walking towards what I walked out from after I signed my contract,” Bell said at a news conference to announce his new deal. “So I don’t know what that means. I don’t know.”"

Nothing is saying a deal will get done before the end of the day, but it appears that wouldn’t be outside the realm of possibilities.
