The linebacker unit for the New York Giants was among the most beleaguered in the entire NFL in 2013. On Thursday the team took an important step in the direction of remedying that problem.
The team has reportedly come to terms with free agent Jameel McClain, now formerly of the Baltimore Ravens.
Mike Silver first reported the deal, more or less.
Congrats to @JameelMcClain on joining the Giants (which becomes official tomorrow)… Quality dude, quality player

Conor Orr of the Star Ledger then did some confirming.

The Indianapolis Colts and Minnesota Vikings were also rumored to have interest in signing McClain. The 28-year-old played the previous six seasons with the Ravens.
