Defensive tackle free agent Henry Melton has picked up some interest from a couple of teams so far this off-season. The Chicago Bears franchise tagged Melton last year but were unable to come to an agreement on a long-term extension before the deadline.

So now that he’s possibly done with the Chicago Bears, Melton will be facing another tough task. According to ESPN.com, the pro bowl defensive tackle out of the University of Texas is being sued over an arrest.

Melton was arrested back in December for public intoxication and assault with a bar-tender in Texas. Apparently Henry decided to not only throw a punch at the bartender, but he decided to bite someone. Not sure why he’s going around biting people, but it’s going to cost him a pretty penny.

Bears general manager Phil Emery just recently found out about the altercation and had this to say about it:

"“That’s the first I’ve heard of it, you just mentioning it. If that’s related to the situation down in Texas, I think that’s been an ongoing issue terms of that issue coming to conclusion and that’s all I can talk about it. In terms of evaluating Henry the place, that’s separate from that. His on-the-field is one thing in terms of evaluation. The off-the-field is the other. It is a part of it, but that’s a legal issue and that’s all I need to say about that.” Phil Emery via ESPN.com."

It’ll be interesting to see if this does in fact push Chicago away from Melton.
