The Texas Tech Red Raiders added their third commitment for the class of 2014 in less than a week when 3-star power forward Norense Odiase committed to Tubby Smith’s Red Raiders on Friday.

Earlier in the week, they got a commitment from from point guard DeVaugntah Williams and his teammate, center Justin Jamison, gave his pledge to the Red Raiders a day later.

The 6’9, 265-pound Odiase is from Crowley, Texas, but attends the Elev8 Sports Institute in Delray Beach, Florida.

“I wanted to be part of what Tubby Smith is building at Texas Tech and having my brother at Texas Tech was big too,” Odiase told Landon Wright of 24/7 Sports. “It was real tough. It basically came down to Texas Tech and Georgia. They came on real strong at the end.”

Odiase is ranked as the 84th best power forward prospect, the 40th best overall prospect in the state of Florida and the 333rd best overall prospect in the class of 2014, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.

Odiase chose the Red Raiders over offers from the Georgia Bulldogs and the Old Dominion Big Blue, among others.
