With more reports coming out, it seems that the relationship between the Philadelphia Eagles and star wide receiver DeSean Jackson will quickly be coming to an end here within the next few weeks. That leaves a huge void on the offensive side of the ball and in the passing game, so wide receiver might be an area that the team will look into in the upcoming NFL Draft. There was an indication of that this on Friday as head coach Chip Kelly was in attendance for the Pro Day of Vanderbilt’s Jordan Matthews.

Matthews was one of the more prolific wideouts in 2013 in college football, and would bring about the same dynamic to the Philadelphia offense that Jackson did. He finds the open space in the defense well, and he can be a legitimate deep threat.

Plus, with the experienced receivers already on the roster in Jeremy Maclin, Riley Cooper and with the addition of Darren Sproles to the backfield along with LeSean McCoy, there would be zero pressure on Matthews to set the world on fire immediately.

When looking at it, this seems like a great fit to fill that void that may be left by the departure of Jackson.
