The Carolina Panthers are weak at two positions entering the 2014 seasons — cornerback and wide receiver. The good news for the Panthers is that they made a solid free agent signing in Antoine Cason, who is expected to enter training camp as the starter.

The Charlotte Observer passed along the news about Cason expecting to be the No. 1 corner.

Cason was a first-round pick in 2008, but he has yet to truly establish himself as a top cornerback threat. However, with the defensive front that he will benefit from in Carolina he could finally have the assistance that he needs to shine.

After a slow start to his career with the San Diego Chargers and Arizona Cardinals, Cason will finally have the opportunity to revitalize his career.
