Earlier in the offseason, there were some reports that the San Francisco 49ers and head coach Jim Harbaugh had their differences that may have led to Harbaugh leaving the team or being traded.

However, as far as Harbaugh is concerned, he was never close to leaving the team.

“There was zero chance of me leaving the San Francisco 49ers,” Harbaugh said, via NFL.com. “Because I love coach my team too much. It’s a joy to coach my team. I love my players, I love our coaches and I love the organization that I serve. That story has been reported.”

The team’s general manager Trent Baalke, who was reportedly one of the biggest causes for controversy with Harbaugh, also spoke at the owner’s meetings and said that he and Harbaugh have a great working relationship.

“Jim and I work very well together,” Baalke said. “I think a lot of that is media-driven. A lot of it is speculation. Maybe it’s the desires of others that we don’t work well together, but that’s not the case internally.”

The 49ers have a great thing going and it is important for people at the top of the organization to work well together to keep their on-field product improving. Baalke and Harbaugh are saying the right things, so let’s hope that they are actually feeling what they are trying to sell.
