Former college basketball coaching legend and current ESPN analyst Bob Knight has turned the filter off once again. Tuesday on ESPN’s Mike and Mike show, Knight said that the NBA has “raped college basketball” by allowing underclassmen to join the league.

Raise your hand and say “I” if you are at all surprised at something like that coming out of Knight’s mouth….

*crickets*

Knight made the unfortunate comparison when he was asked whether freshman stars like Kansas’ Andrew Wiggins or Duke’s Jabari Parker were ready to face the rigors of an NBA schedule after just one college season.

Here is Knight’s complete response (earmuffs): [Source: FoxSports.com]

"“If I were involved with the NBA I wouldn’t want a 19-year-old or a 20-year-old kid, to bring into all the travel and all the problems that exist in the NBA. I would want a much more mature kid. I would want a kid that maybe I’ve been watching on another team and now he’s 21, 22 years old instead of 18 or 19, and I might trade for that kid. On top of it all, the NBA does a tremendous, gigantic disservice to college basketball. It’s as though they’ve raped college basketball in my opinion.”"

That was enough for both Mike’s, as they didn’t ask Knight to elaborate or comment further.
