It was just recently that Manchester United fans were being praised by manager David Moyes for their support of the club through the troubling times.

“The club is built on a fantastic fan base throughout the world not just here in Manchester, Manchester United is supported everywhere. I saw that when I went on tour and more importantly I’m seeing it a lot at Old Trafford with great support,” Moyes said, via Sky Sports.

“I think the supporters understand the difficult period we are in and they are backing the players, they really are. I really believe the players are working hard for each other – they know they can play better and will play better.”

He added: “If you are a football supporter you understand what loyalty is – if you are someone who follows a club passionately then you follow them whether it is doing badly or whether it is doing well.

“It takes stronger supporters to support your club when it is not doing well, sometimes it is a bit easier when we are winning, at the moment the Manchester United supporters realise there is some changes being made and they understand their time will come again.”

Well it was a nice honeymoon after that big 3-0 win over Olympiacos in the Champions League. After a tough loss to Manchester City at the derby, all those honeymoon feelings came crashing back to earth and while it looks like while the fans will support the club, they aren’t keen to support Moyes.

The fans have chartered a plane to fly over Old Trafford with a banner that reads “Wrong one- Moyes out.” The “wrong one” is a reference to a “chosen one” banner inside the stadium.

“We have to ensure we keep the message clean – there’s no swear words in there – can’t be seen to insult people directly and defamation of character,” chief pilot Chris Mustow said, via ITV. “This one will be fine – we’re not going to cause a riot or anything.

“In the past we’ve been asked to relay messages of a colourful nature which we’ve declined. At the end of the day we’re employed to do a job and that’s what we do.”
