The Washington Redskins have been hot on the trail of DeSean Jackson ever since he was cut by division foes the Philadelphia Eagles, but despite getting ‘close’ on a deal there has been no contract offered nor signed.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that the Redskins and Jackson have parted ways for now with no contract to speak of. That doesn’t mean the deal is dead, as Jackson will be in Washington to try and hammer one out, but the meetings seem to be done for now.

Washington wants Jackson bad but they haven’t been able to agree to one. All hope is not dead though as the potential for a deal remains very possible with Jackson still in town. The Raiders are reportedly skeptical about adding Jackson, but if he leaves Washington then another Bay Area team may swoop in and end the Redskins’ chances of signing him.
