It took forever for Jared Allen to find a contract with a new team, but he finally did last week when he agreed to sign with the Chicago Bears. The move kept Allen in the NFC and kept him in the NFC North, a move that will make Vikings fas uneasy when they have to play their former star two times per year.

Former Bears defensive star Brian Urlacher, who has played against Allen in the past, is very happy to have him on his team’s side for once.

Per the Chicago Tribune:

"“I think it’s a good signing by the Bears, especially after Pepp leaves and the problems they had getting pressure last year,” said Urlacher, now an NFL analyst for Fox Sports 1. “I think it’ll be a great acquisition for them. He’s a good guy. And he’s fun to watch too.”"

Allen all be helping to replace the loss of Julius Peppers, who signed as a linebacker with the Green Bay Packers. He may not be a total replacement for Peppers, but Allen is hungry to prove he’s still a top defensive end in the NFL and that’s good news for the Bears.
