Houston Texans head coach Bill O’Brien was in attendance on Wednesday as stud defensive end Jadeveon Clowney showcased his freakish athletic ability at South Carolina’s Pro Day, and he came away thoroughly impressed as he continues to mull over his options for the top overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft coming up in a month.

Throughout this entire draft process, the main concern that some people have had with Clowney has been his work ethic, or lack thereof in their opinions. But in talking to reporters after the workout, O’Brien made it known that he in now way has a concern about Clowney’s work ethic.

Ability has never been this issue when the subject of Clowney and future success in the NFL is brought up, it’s always been this work ethic and him “taking plays off.” However, Clowney did his best today so silence those critics, and the consensus coming out of the Pro Day is that many now believe that O’Brien would be foolish to pass on Clowney when the time comes next month.

One thing is for sure: The race for that top pick got real interesting after today.
