The Cincinnati Bengals have had trouble hanging on to some of their own free agents and lost what could have been a nice piece when they decided not to match the offer sheet wide receiver Andrew Hawkins signed with the Cleveland Browns, officially making Hawkins a member of the Browns.

On Tuesday, they kept one of their own free agent wide receivers.

The team announced, via their official twitter, they have re-signed Dane Sanzenbacher.

Sanzenbacher’s position coach is certainly glad to have him back.

Sanzenbacher, a former Ohio State Buckeyes’ standout, went undrafted in the 2011 Draft before catching on with the Chicago Bears.

After appearing in all 16 games and catching 27 passes for 276 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie, he was waived just before the 2012 season ended after catching just one pass in five games and signed with the Bengals.

Sanzenbacher had six catches for 61 yards in 10 games for the Bengals in 2013.
