Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender left Tuesday’s game against Toronto after suffering an injury to his left arm. On Wednesday, the netminder underwent tests to find out the severity of the injured wing which has yielded both good and bad news.

An MRI on the arm revealed no major structural damage, however, the team still doesn’t know the full severity of the injury. With this knowledge, Bishop will miss the remainder of the regular season for the Lightning, and his status for Tampa’s upcoming playoff run is also in question.

Those two tweets suggest that it’s highly unlikely that Bishop will be ready when Tampa begins playoff play next week. This means that Anders Lindback will be the man to carry the team between the pipes until Bishop is healthy enough to return. Kristers Gudlevskis has been called up from Syracuse of the AHL to backup Lindback.
