We last saw running back Tre Mason in the national championship game with the Auburn Tigers and we may next see him in a Miami Dolphins uniform. While the Phins already have Knowshon Moreno, Lamar Miller and others on roster at running back, they apparently aren’t done shopping for backs and are looking at the draft for more answers.

According to Omar Kelly, one of those answers could be Tre Mason as the Dolphins worked out the Auburn back this week along with Wisconsin running back James White.

It’ll be interesting to see what the Dolphins do in the draft as they have needs at other positions but have been working out more than a few running backs this spring. They may bring in more and their interest level may remain high enough that they spend a rather high pick on a back to fit behind who they already have.

Miami is playing it risky by targeting top backs like Mason but if the Patriots can work out Johnny Manziel, we can’t make that big of a stink about Miami working out running backs.
